The Good, The Bad and the Ugly (1966) directed by Sergio Leone; music by Ennio Morricone and starring Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach. Great script. Great acting. Great direction. Great music. Great camera work. A masterpiece! Other favorites... Gladiator, The Notebook, Last of the Mohicans, Sleeping In Seattle, Dances With Wolves, There's Something About Mary, Ronin, Three Days of the Condor, and the Mission Impossible series.
The Long Walk by Slawomir Rawicz (1954); an autobiographical account of a Polish army officer who escaped from a Russian gulag near Lake Baikal and the journey to India with his fellow escapees. It is a testament to human endurance and the will to survive.
Unprocessed food, vegetables, fish, chicken, shell fish. Greek, Korean, Georgian, Italian food are my favorites.
Rock, pop, classical, New Wave, Eurodance
Practical. But I like to dress in a classic sense with a little flair without trying to seem as if I'm trying to be 25 years old again. But I never want to dress like an old man who doesn't care how he looks anymore. I am tall, strong and imposing in appearance with a military bearing. People say I walk with confidence. But my appearance belies a kind and sensitive man.
Sarcastic, dry and playful. I occasionally like to say something absurd to see people's reactions. I often use humor to make people comfortable and build rapport.
Hiking, camping, cycling, kayaking, travel, music, photography, writing, reading, fitness, coaching and watching baseball. I love mentoring young athletes.
I have traveled to 37 countries and territories. In the future I would like to visit Russia, the Baltic countries, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Greece, Ecuador, Belize, Chile, Argentina, Philippines, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Tibet, Nepal and India. My goal is to visit 50 countries. I need a travel partner to carry my bags!!! Don't worry. I won't be bringing my weights. I'm joking. I am the traditional sort and carry the lady's bags. Although I haven't been able to grow a third arm and hand yet.
I have lived in several cultures. I have lived in East Africa, North Africa, and eastern Europe. I enjoyed them all and gained perspective about other people and their lives. Learning about others' lifestyles and customs is fascinating to me. I believe in giving others due respect for their customs and traditions is important even if they are very foreign or strange to me.
It depends upon the time of year, weather and location. But good food and good conversation is always a great way to start. I think taking a genuine interest and being a good listener is very important. But creating an atmosphere and mood or going to a special place is very important. I think a first date should be centered on conversation. A second date should be a mutual adventure into some form of the unknown. The third date, if there is still mutual attraction and there is growth, a romantic date would be due. But I cannot be insincere with romance. I need to feel it. A romantic weekend... It depends on the lady and her preferences, and the time of year. If it were summer, a somewhat secluded beach and beachfront cottage would be very nice. If it were winter, maybe some skiing in the Georgian mountains. Or possibly a shopping weekend in Kiev with nice restaurants, live music and dancing or a show of some kind... Theater, dance.
Quiet, peaceful, loving, funny, playful, adventurous. I have a "can do" and positive attitude. I can be frank at times which sometimes makes some people uncomfortable. But sometimes I refuse to tiptoe around people's stupidity. But I have good manners. I am very observant of people and my surroundings. I enjoy watching and interpreting body language.
Tall, athletic, physically active, fit, smart, educated, playful, good sense of humor, strong family values. She must have an easy smile. She has good manners, good social sense but isn't narcissistic and consumed with her own appearance. Of course I appreciate a woman's efforts in looking good for herself and her man. But being in love with the mirror isn't an attractive trait for me. I've met a few women who never met a mirror that they didn't like.
