If you want to settle down & start a family as soon as possible, rather than exploring an "adventure in paradise," then I am not the one for you - good luck in your search. I run a consulting practice & an animal rescue. I live & work on a mountaintop in the giant redwood forests along the California Central Coast. I am surrounded by animals – inside & out, domestic and wild. I have powerful spiritual gifts that I use on behalf of animals & people I care for as well as all beings on this precious planet. I have 1 daughter by birth & a daughter & 2 sons by adoption, all grown up with families & living far away. So I am free to go wherever I want & do whatever I want. My current plan is to semi-retire in 2012 & leave the U.S. Several countries look attractive as a home base when not traveling. Panama, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Uruguay, Malta, & Sardinia are places with low cost of living, high quality of life, political stability, nice climate, & allow import of my companion animals. Do you know any other great places for us to live, love, explore, & evolve? I have a retirement income, but I am not rich. I plan to supplement it with part-time income from the unique knowledge I bring to the country I choose to live in. In the countries I am researching, we can live quite well on a modest income. I'm not talking about luxury travel either. I want real adventure, not a duplicate of my living room back home. I am a cultural anthropologist and natural explorer, so I want to experience real life and real local people where I travel, even if it means roughing it sometimes. If you have children, it will be a living classroom for them, teaching them unforgettable lessons that will open their minds to all the possibilities life on this planet offers them. I lead an extraordinary life! I am constantly learning & evolving to become the most I can be in this lifetime. I have an immense range of life experience, through my intelligence, curiosity, desire to continuously explore & learn, courage to take intelligent risks, love of personal growth, desire to live a natural, healthy life, and a strong spiritual foundation. I look, think, and act at least 10 years younger than I am. People are shocked or disbelieving when I tell them I have 4 grown children + grandchildren. My favorite saying about who I am: "What I know about work, I learned from men. What I know about life, I learned from women!" This means I have many of the work attributes of a man: very focused; dedicated; loyal; ambitious; strong willed; success oriented; take risks; take pride in my work; long list of academic & professional accomplishments; always one of the top in my profession; good provider for my family; fearless in protection of those I care for; willing to receive constructive criticism; not afraid to ask for what I want; good leader & mentor. It also means I have many of the personal attributes of a woman: compassionate; generous; intuitive; deeply emotional & spiritual; playful; love to laugh & to share humor & joy with others; love & care for children, animals, & those in need; prefer cooperation over competition; disgusted by violence & war; cry easily when feeling deep emotions; good communicator & relationship builder; respect & listen to women, not just men; advocate & practice equality of men & women, not being & acting the same – that robs our family & society of the unique gifts of each gender, but deserving of equal respect & opportunity; value preserving my relationships over having to win or be right; easily hurt, but quick to forgive & bond again; need to talk about & resolve a conflict before going to sleep; passionate about life & love; romantic; need to trust my lover before I can become intimate with her; passionate lover once I trust her; need to rebuild trust after being hurt; sentimental about old memories and the people & things that have meant the most to me in my life. Interests: --Animals – I care for many types of animals in my animal rescue & home. I also like horses very much & try to interact with them as often as possible, sometimes riding, sometimes communing with their incredible energy. I have deep respect & appreciation for all animals as spiritual beings & equals, with much to teach us if we would just learn to listen as tribal people once did. --I love all things natural - organic food, hiking, rock climbing, swimming, beauty in all things, spirituality (the true soul of the universe, not organized religion), protecting the environment --Music, film, theatre, dance, photography, videography, art --Good,natural food - at home & dining out --Dressing up and going out to music and dance clubs --Travel - as an adventurer & cultural anthropologist, not a tourist --Clothes and accessories shopping - Yes, I actually enjoy shopping for clothes, unlike most men. I particularly like shopping with a woman, helping her see how she looks through a man's eyes & sitting by the dressing room to give her my honest opinion about whether I think each outfit looks really good on her. I also enjoy shopping for accessories like jewelry. I collect and wear unusual pendants from around the world - fossil ivory, bone carvings, unique crystals and stones with special meanings and powers. I also loved to buy unique, attractive jewelry for my wife or special lady, when I had one, and I have always bought it for my lovely daughter. Even when married, I was the parent who always took her shopping for a new wardrobe before school started. This continued even after she left home and was on her own, because we enjoyed this special time together and she liked my taste in clothes.

More About Me

Favorite Movie:

I love watching movies. I watch a movie on my big screen home theater almost every night as my relaxation before going to bed. But I don't like watching commercial TV and haven't had it in my home for most of my adult life. The last time I had access to TV in my home was about 10 years ago, but only for a couple of years before I cancelled it - nothing worth watching! So all the movies I watch are either on DVD/Blu-ray disc, in digital form on my computer, or streamed off the internet (via Netflix, if you know what that is). Because I watch so many movies, I have favorite movies of many different types that I watch depending on my mood or my desire to learn and develop my spiritual abilities... For example, I keep a list of all the spiritual films I have ever seen or want to see that I share with a network of other spiritual film lovers. It contains hundreds of uplifting and enlightening movies. A few of my favorite spiritual films are "The Celestine Prophecy", "The Fountain", "Meetings with Remarkable Men", "Whale Rider", "Wings of Desire, " "Faraway, So Close", "Siddhartha", "What Dreams May Come", "Pay It Forward", "The Last Wave", "Peaceful Warrior", "The Last Temptation of Christ", and "The Seventh Sign." My favorite fiction subjects for both movies and books are science fiction, mythology/fantasy, and animals, especially animals with special abilities. My favorite science fiction movies are "The Matrix" and "Blade Runner." I also like music films such as concerts of my favorite musicians. But my absolute favorite music film (and my favorite CD album) is also one of my favorite spiritual films --"1 Giant Leap". Filmed in 20 different countries, the 2 young filmmakers describe it as "a music-based time-capsule of planet earth now, including the most tuned-in artists, thinkers and images of the moment. An exploration of the predicament of being a human." It is the ultimate in "world music"!

Favorite Book:

My favorite books are almost all spiritual and personal growth books. I don't have a favorite because I want to read as much as I can about these subjects and therefore read far too many books to have just one favorite. If I had to name my favorite types of spiritual books, not a single book, they would be about developing my spiritual/metaphysical abilities such as shamanism, clairvoyance, telepathy, lucid dreaming, mind/body connections and healing, comparative religion, and the spiritual cycle of life, death, and afterlife or reincarnation, including how to help people, animals, and their loved ones through the dying process.

Favorite Food:

I have limited cooking skills, so when I eat at home, it's usually something I can wash and cut, like a salad, or microwave. There are a few dishes I make really well, especially omelets and meat, fish, and vegetables I grill outdoors on my barbeque grill. If someone else is cooking (hint :) or I am dining out, I love a lot of different ethnic foods including all types of Latin foods I have tried - Mexican (from all the different regions/states, I think), Peruvian, Brazilian, Cuban, Argentinian, Salvadoran. I haven't had a chance to eat the food of other South or Central American countries but I would love the opportunity to do it. I would be even happier if it were a home cooked meal prepared by someone special yummyyyyyyyy :} For other foods, I like see the food interest section. It's a lot easier than trying to list them all here. The reason I didn't check Chinese in that list isn't because I don't like Chinese food. It's because one of my food allergies is soy (it's a common allergy for many people). I love well prepared (not fast food), natural (no MSG) Chinese food but I have never had a Chinese meal that doesn't use lots of soy/soya sauce. If I could find someone who could cook a good Chinese meal without soy, I would be very grateful :) I have a sensitive digestive system so I need to be cautious about what I eat. It is more about allergies like soy, than about not being able to eat spicy food or anything like that. It's not life threatening allergies like some people who are allergic to nuts, shellfish, or strawberries. It's about not eating any one food too much or too often or it triggers my immune system to react as if it's an invader. So I just need to monitor what I eat and how often, not necessarily avoid it completely - except for a few foods like soy.

Favorite Music:

Music is my third favorite interest after 1) spirituality/metaphysics and 2) animals/nature. I like what I consider to be "good music" in any musical genre. There are a few genres where I find more music that I don't like than I do like - hip hop/rap, heavy metal, the more dark and death metal side of goth, lounge, pop, top 40, mariachi, and opera. I have a very large music collection - 40, 000-50, 000 tracks/songs (it keeps growing) all digitized onto computer hard discs. I listen to my music most of the day while I'm working. I don't like commercial radio, because they have such limited music selection and I really don't like commercials.

Dress Style:

My photos pretty much say it all. I have a very eclectic, large wardrobe of clothes, shoes, and accessories - 3 times the size of the wardrobe of my last life partner. I love to dress uniquely and according to my mood and where I'm going. I often carry a change of clothes in my car, so I can change when my mood or the setting change. As I say earlier in my profile, I love to shop for myself and even more with my female partner or daughter.

I want to look attractive to you, so if there is something that you would like me to change, such as being clean shaven, I would be happy to do what pleases you, my dear!

Humor:

I find humor in all of life, like in the saying, "God has a sense of humor!" There are so many things to make me laugh every day of my life - the crazy actions of my animal companions and with my parrots, even what they say; my own mistakes and minor accidents; the strange things people do and say wherever I go; crazy, strange things I see or read on the internet, and on an on... For example, the things some women on some of these dating sites say is so funny, I can't stop laughing as I open one crazy message after another. And some of the photos these women put on their profiles can be just as crazy and funny, such as photoshopped images where the head doesn't fit right on the body. There was one photo where the head wasn't even close to the center of her body. It was over near one shoulder - she looked like a mutant ha, ha, ha! There are a couple of dating sites I am on just for pure humor. They are such obvious fake scams, but they can be so very funny in the way they try to get men to spend money on the site or on them. I tried an experiment on one of them and wrote a profile and included a photo of me as an alien visitor from another planet. The site approved that alien profile and photo and I still received lots of messages telling me how attracted they were to me and my profile ha ha ha! If we start communicating, I'll share some of them with you. You won't believe what some of them say and show and you'll probably laugh just as much as I did... What I am not very good at or interested in is telling jokes. I am so much into real life, that anything less than that just doesn't interest me that much. For example, I find most American/Hollywood comedies to not be very funny - they try too hard to be funny and it seems fake and boring to me. TV sitcoms are even worse, especially with their canned laughter. I find British humor to be much closer to my own sense of humor than typical American humor.

Hobbies & Interests:

--Animals – I care for many types of animals in my animal rescue and home. I also like horses very much and try to interact with them as often as possible, sometimes riding, sometimes communing with their incredible energy. I have deep respect and appreciation for all animals as spiritual beings and equals, with much to teach us if we would just learn to listen as tribal people once did. --I love all things natural - organic food, hiking, rock climbing, swimming, beauty in all things, spirituality (the true soul of the universe, not organized religion), protecting the environment --Music, film, theatre, dance, photography, videography, art --Good, natural food - at home and dining out --Dressing up and going out to music and dance clubs and creative arts events --Adventure Travel - as an explorer and cultural anthropologist, not a tourist --Clothes and accessories shopping - Yes, I actually enjoy shopping for clothes, unlike most men. I particularly like shopping with a woman, helping her see how she looks through a man's eyes and sitting by the dressing room to give her my honest opinion about whether I think each outfit looks really good on her. This continued even after she left home and was on her own, because we enjoyed this special time together and she liked my taste in clothes. - Personal growth and spiritual/metaphysical practices - Much of my entire life has been devoted to the development of my spiritual abilities and the evolution of higher states of consciousness. I would love to share these with you and to share the special gifts you have that I can learn and grow from....Although I am not "religious" in the traditional sense, I am deeply spiritual and try to practice my spiritual beliefs and values in all I do. I have learned that, as long as someone is deeply spiritual in their beliefs as well as in their actions in their daily life, it doesn't matter what their religion is. There are many paths to God and each person needs to choose the one that is right for her or him.... For example: My father's mother was Catholic and went to Mass every day of her life except when too ill to walk to church (she never owned a car). She led the hardest life of anyone I have ever known, yet she never complained and always did things for us children, no matter how difficult it was for her. My other grandmother didn't practice any religion that I know of, but was descended directly from the Puritans who came to America on the Mayflower in the 1500's - some of the first people to colonize the New World. She was my second mother when I was growing up, teaching me many of the spiritual values I still have today and some metaphysical practices such as palmistry and clairvoyance. I have friends who don't go to church but meditate every day, do amazingly kind things for others, and never have a bad word to say about anyone. My mother was first a Methodist and then a Catholic when she married my father, but was never very religious. Yet she was the kindest person I have ever known. All of these wonderful people found God in their own way and practiced their beliefs in ways that helped others. This is how I live as well, because my values and beliefs are the result of their guidance and love. My own children have followed a different, much more materialistic path, largely because of their mother's influence. So I am looking for someone who could love me enough to accept me as I am, even if I seem strange to some people in our society. My ultimate dream is that she gives me and the world the divine gift of passing these skills on to others, so they aren't lost when I cross over to the spirit world.

Travelled:

Have traveled to: Canada, Mexico, St. Lucia, Jamaica, England, Wales, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Israel, China

Would like to adventure travel to the whole world with my partner. But the places I would most like to visit first are those that are still relatively unspoiled by tourism but won't remain so much longer. I want to experience the real world as it existed before cultures mixed too much, to the point where they all look and act the same, except for language. Multinational companies, chain stores and restaurants, exported products and media like dubbed films and TV shows, and materialistic values have destroyed far too many beautifully unique cultural characteristics. They have become "tourist shows" at resort hotels, like luaus and the hula dance in Hawaii (where my brother has lived for 25 years, so it has become my second home).

Cultural Adaption:

Romance:

As you might have guessed by now, I don't believe in following many of society's "rules" for living, including what is romance. "Modern romance" is now defined mainly by materialistic pop culture - the movies, books, card companies, florists, restaurants, and all the others who try to sell us on what is "romantic." I believe what is romantic depends entirely upon the couple involved - it shouldn't be defined by anyone else. So my answer to this question is "it depends on who my partner is." I am very romantic, but I take my cues from my partner for what that means in my relationship with HER, not with anyone else especially society's stereotype. I also don't believe that romance should be experienced as an event, like Valentine's Day or a weekend getaway. If we can't make our relationship romantic all the time, we shouldn't be together. But to do that, we need to re-define romantic to mean something more than just flowers and candy. We need to define it as something very special to us that keeps us connected and loving, no matter what is happening in our lives.
