Hello, my name is Jeremiah, but I go by Jeremy or Jim which is less of a mouthful. I've been living in Annapolis, Maryland for 5 years and I’m originally from the west coast. I’m probably not alone in that I wasn’t really planning on searching for my partner on a website, however, given the alternative of searching in bars or biding the time until the one that I’ve been searching for may come along doesn’t strike me as to appealing either, so here goes! First I should warn you in advance, I’m not a sports buff or into video games. Not that I have anything against them, I just feel that I managed to work most of the sports out of my system back in High School. As for the video games, I outgrew them sometime in Middle School. I will admit that I do follow some teams in the Olympics, but that all depends on the nations which are represented. As an outdoorsman who’s been confined to the city for the past 5 years, I make it a point in taking the stairs over an elevator or escalator and riding my mountain bike in and around town as much as possible when running errands to stay active and in shape. I’ve also had a couple of German Shepherds in the past that I would walk several miles each day, but given the condition of my current lease I’m not permitted to have any pets at the moment. When I do manage to break away, I aim for the State/National Parks where I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, camping, kayaking, etc. One of the parks nearby that I enjoy most is Assateague National Seashore. It’s hard to top the experience of sleeping on the sand in a tent while breathing in the smell of the salty air at night and the crashing of the waves while you sleep. It may be considered a little old-fashioned, but I still insist on getting the door for a woman and assisting my date with her coat and chair whenever possible. I suppose they’re just some habits that get passed on from grandparents, etc… I also pride myself in following through with promises, providing my full attention, and always placing the needs of my partner above my own. Over the years I’ve also learned that communication is the key to a successful relationship, and so I strive at sharing a healthy and open line of communication with the one I love. I’m a very honest person and so it’s best to clarify my relationship status. None of us enter a relationship thinking that it may end in divorce one day; unfortunately I discovered that they do happen. I was married for 8 years to a physician from Finland who was unable to attain residency as a physician here in the U.S. Though I pulled what strings I had available to me, there was no tweaking our healthcare system to provide her the option to work. As a result, she left in 2011 with our daughter to go back to Finland where she’s been able to fulfill her lifelong passion and priority as an M.D. Though I hadn’t foreseen it ending that way in the beginning, I have one thing to be thankful for, and that’s my daughter. My daughter is now 5 years old and means the world to me, and though I only get to see her once or twice a year, I do my best at remaining active in her life.
