I live in Los Angeles, and I feel privileged and somewhat spoiled. So I plan to add to that sense of privilege by spending more time in the far east and Europe. I’m presently living in LA, CA. I’m an Ex-Patriot British man, who is an artistic, nonconformist. My earliest recollection was when I was about 2 years old. I was in the back seat of my dad’s car, in a traffic jam, on a busy highway, back in the UK. And a trendy, convertible sports car pulled up next to my father’s car. Seated in the driving seat was a man of about thirty, who appeared to be quite hip, or full of himself, enjoying his music on his radio, on this hot summer day. As I stared at the man, he turned to me, saw me staring at him, and he gave me a huge, broad smile and a wonderful wink. He felt it appropriate to send me a little love, as he probably knew I was admiring him. That strangers joy and adoration for me was so overwhelming that it hit me like a lightening bolt and ‘started’ my life from that point forward. I have no memories prior to that moment. I pass it on when the opportunity arises. I don’t excel with exclusionists, or mix well with mediocrity. If you are willing to stand out and take risks, then my respect to you. I don’t mind being owned, but yet I do not wish to own, Oh contraire, I want to set free. I like people, with grace, humanity and a keen sense of hospitality. The ancient Greeks considered strangers to be Gods. A great ideology. I visited Kiev in August of 2012 and have developed a significant respect for Ukrainian people. So I comer back from time time.

General Background Info: I grew up in Maine so most of my family and friends are there. I went to school at UMaine for engineering and continued on to get my MBA. For the last 11 years I have been working on industrial construction sites as a field engineer. Right now I am near Chicago at a BP oil refinery. It is currently the largest construction job in the US. Before this I was in Texas near Houston working on a different refinery expansion. Working on the road has its positives and negatives. I think that at this stage of my life it is overall a positive path for my life. Working on the road pays pretty well and I am using some of the extra money on investments including apartment buildings. I really do like real estate and my business is in its infancy. These investments will give me more flexibility in the future to do what I want such as work near Maine, travel or just plain retire early. It all sounds like a good plan and I know things change. I roll with the punches and things like a family may extend my working days but I’m sure it will be worth it. I have a house in Maine which is where I keep most of my things. While on the road I live a simple life with minimal possessions. On my free time I usually go back to Maine to visit friends, family, and my house. Maine is a great place but I am not sure that I want to be there full time. I like warm climates and want to have the flexibility to get out of Maine during the long winter. Lifestyle: This job has allowed me to see many things that I would have never seen if I stayed home. Traveling for work makes it easy to meet people but hard to find someone that is willing to work with this lifestyle. I wont be on the road forever, the money is good and it has been fun. My career has gone really well and it will be hard to give up. So for now I try to find the balance of saving for retirement and having fun today! I like growing and expanding myself. I am avoiding people who do not want to grow. I have been slowly improving my diet and trying to keep my exercise up even though I work quite a few hours and the weather does not always cooperate. I understand that we need to be more deliberate about exercising as we age. I would like to think that I am a good balance of city and country. I can find my way around the subway and the next day on a farm. The world has so much to offer. I'm here hopefully with others that want to share the same level of quality of life. I like music over TV. I will continue to grow and learn till the end. I like being active and having fun. I believe that sometimes we need to do out of the ordinary actions to achieve extraordinary results. We will never know the path not taken.
