. I grew up in new york. I had a small family, just my parents. I finished all my schooling and training. I was in the health care myself, until my mother started having abdominal symtoms over the years which kept getting worse. I was always concerned about my parents, mom and grandmom. They were healthy for a long time until my mother was misdiagnosed with colon cancer. They made a mistake and told us it was just a stomach infection when her symptoms really peaked in 2017 along with fevers, nausea, etc.. They were regularly doing X rays of her abdomen over the years and CT scans along with blood work. These tests were not showing anything because x rays and ct scans were not detecting her blockage or cancer in the colon as we saw based on our experience. It was a disaster. They were therefore doing the wrong tests. The correct one was a colonoscopy, a third hospital tod us later on. She was blocked in the large intestine we found out after going to a third hospital and telling them what they were doing because her abdominal symtoms and back pains just kept coming back despite pain killers. We did not know what was going on. It was terrible. My world was turned upside down when we found out what was really happening.. It was not the same anymore. She went for surgery and radiosurgery radiation, which is similar to Proton therapy radiation. It kept the malignancy in check until she contracted covid19 in the hospital. Her loss was traumatic for me and immense. You would think that you could rely on others for your health right? Not so. I stopped working and started putting all my attention on her for several years. Her blood began to slightly change 5 years before her symptoms got worse and they stiĺl did not see that. Her hemoglobin, red blood cells, hematocrit changed which means she was losing blood. The levels were down. When her symptoms peaked her blood really changed and they could not see that she was losing blood. So incompetent. I was taking care of her at home myself just me. After her loss I went back to work, but it was very hard. Our lives are transient in this world. We have to live as if everyday is our last. We dont know what will happen tomorrow. There are careless people out there so you have to be on your toes as they say 24/7. Why am I here? It would be nice if I could meet a decent person from here, but I am also a standard member. I cannot answer your emails. I will become a member soon.. They say out of all the cancers out there colon cancer gives people a second chance at life. Please get your colonoscopy done as soon as possible. Never mind the preparation and the discomfort. The disease us deadly a d the surgery is painful. If they find any small polyps they have to remove them. They are the ones that grow into cancer later on. They take ten years or so to grow, but you don't want them in your body. And they definitely kill. You will be out of danger for a while if you can have them removed, but they may grow again. This is why they recommend a colonoscopy every 5 years especially if you have a family history. Colon cancer is affecting young and old, rich and poor, men and women, short and tall, Boys and girls. It does not discriminate. Please read about it. I had 2 colonoscopies done on me already. I am a big supporter of colonoscopies. The first one was about 8 years ago where they found 2 small polyps very tiny, one to 2 millimeters in size, and they removed them. I had the second one done 3 years after and they found nothing. I was not going to wait 5 years. I plan to go for another one in 5 years after. The only uncomfortable thing is the preparation, but hey it is a very important test. The other cancers like brain cancer or pancreas do not give anybody a chance to even prepare because they come quickly. They are deadlier. Colon cancer gives warnings such as the polyps which can safely be removed when they are small. Don't wait for any symptoms because that might be too late. Dont believe people who say if you dont have symptoms dont worry about it. It is your life. The symptoms come slow in colon cancer. This is why you need a colonoscopy to look for those deadly polyps. Some say not all polyps are cancer. Sorry we only live once, and I am not leaving it to chance. I would rather have them removed rather than wait and see if they are cancerous, meaning if they grow fast and spreading in my body. By then it would be too late. I repeat they must be removed during a colonoscopy. Read about it. Read family guide books. Read. Read. Protect your life. Protect your health. I support Ukraine and even though I have no power I know I can reach thousands by making them aware about their health. Life is precious. Life is beautiful. It comes around though only once. If I am able to save a life I will be happy. You don't want to go through what I went through. It is painful when you lose a loved one. Those arrogant clowns that treated my mother wanted to make me believe they understood. Believe me no one understands what you are going through unless they have gone through the same situation themselves. Stay away from fried foods. Eat your fibers and stay away from junk food. Stay informed. I would rather live a long, healthy and poor life than a short and very rich life. My grandmom went beyond 100 years old just like her mom without a single polyp, but I lost her because they don't like elderly people in nursing homes. My mom of course had polyps which were not removed on time and grew. I have been hearing that Aspirin, the small coated one 81 Milligrams, protects against colon cancer. They call it Aspirin here and it is also called Acetylsalicylic acid in chemical language. I take only one tablet one or 2 times every two weeks, a small amount, but I want some protection. Check with your doctor first, if you can take small amounts of Aspirin. About nursing homes, yes, you would think otherwise that they care here, but they do not. They love the payments they receive from the insurance companies. That is all, but they dont like the people they are supposed to be helping. That is the plain truth. I saw what they did.
